Film Legend and 1960 Psycho's Hilton Green Dies in Pasadena Home
American film producer and assistant director Hilton Green died Wednesday, October 2 at his home in Pasadena. He was 84.
Hilton was born on March 3, 1929 to Director Alfred Green and actress Vivian Reed. Hilton started his career in the film industry in 1956. He was a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and a renowned film producer.
Green was also the assistant director of the original Psycho (1960) and The Trouble with Marnie (2000), as well as the known TV shows Leave it to Beaver, Wagon Train, Dragnet and Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
He also worked on several films including Home Alone 3 (1997), Psycho II (1983) and Psycho III (1986) and Psycho IV: The Beginning (1990), Son In Law (1993) and Encino Man (1992).
The film legend studied in the University of Southern California, where he served even after he graduated by being a member of the Board of Trustees and as the President of the General Alumni Association.
Green will be missed by Helen, his wife of 61 years; children Wendy, Brad and Pam; son-in-law Richard; daughter-in-law Laura; eight grandchildren; his family and friends.
His funeral services will be in South Pasadena's Holy Family Church on Tuesday, October 8 at 10:30 a.m. Donations in his name can be given in lieu of flowers to the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, Office of Development Rm 8302, 1441 Eastlake Ave.
