WB's HITCHCOCK DEAL

There appears to be a difference of opinion between Warners and Alfred Hitchcock about the extent of the director's contract with this studio. Jack L. Warner announced it as a "significant long-term deal that made it sound pretty exclusive. Hitchcock promptly countered by pointing out in his own statement that his WB is for only one picture per year — and not at all exclusive.
