Texaco Star Theatre

The Texaco Star Theatre was an American comedy-variety show, initially broadcast on radio from 1938 to 1949 with host Fred Allen, and then telecast from 1948 to 1956.

In 1945, the show was renamed The Fred Allen Show.

Director Alfred Hitchcock was a guest on the show on the evening of Sunday 24th January 1943 (8:30-9pm). He had appeared on Information Please two days before. According to contemporary newspaper reports, the quartet "Hi, Lo, Jack and the Dame" were the guest vocalists on the show.

Hitchcock appeared on the show again on 17 February 1946.
