Shakespeare, Flint, and Radio

The interesting series of talks which have dealt with practical questions of Shakespearean production to-night reach the controversial stage. Granville Barker, speaking as a producer and actor of many years' experience and as the creator of many notable Shakespearean productions, will discuss whether the dramatist can be interpreted in films or over the wireless, and will contend that he cannot in the first medium and only with limitations in the second. His will not be the last word on the matter, for next week Val Gielgud, the B.B.C.'s drama director, and Alfred Hitchcock, the British film producer, are to reply.
