May

  • The front page of the Daily Express carries an advertisement from the newly formed London Film Society in which it promises to encourage "the production of really artistic films".[1]

October

  • The London Film Society launches itself with a viewing of the German file Waxworks, directed by Paul Leni.[2]

1931

February

  • 9th - The Skin Game is reviewed positively by The Times, who also reports that the London Film Society screened a scene of the film along with a reel from The Lodger.[3][4]
