Joseph Hitchcock (b. ~1804)

Joseph Hitchcock was born in Dedham, Essex, but moved to Bermondsey, Surrey, in the early 1820s. He worked as a porter and then a wine cooper.

It is very likely his wife Jane was a witness to the marriage of Charles Hitchcock (b. ~1791) and Sarah Ann Pike (b. 1810) on 24th April 1836. Charles' first wife, Jemima, had died in 1835 and Joseph and Jane seemingly named their next daughter after her.[1]

Joseph died in 1879, aged 77.
