PAL
PAL, short for Phase Alternating Line, is an analogue television colour encoding system used in broadcast television systems in many countries, including Europe, most of Africa, China, India, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, North Korea and Brazil.
DVD releases from regions 2 and 4 typically use PAL transfers at 25 frames per second.
