NEW BRITISH FILMS
MR. HICKS AS SCROOGE
Mr. Seymour Hicks's familiar stage portrait of Scrooge is to be recorded for the screen in an elaborate film version of "A Christmas Carol" which is to be made immediately at the Twickenham studios under Mr. Henry Edwards's direction.
Another British film, The Thirty-Nine Steps adapted from Mr. John Buchan's novel, will be completed at the end of this week by the Gaumont-British Corporation. It is being directed by Mr. Alfred Hitchcock.
On March 21 there will be presented at the Tivoli a Hollywood version of Clive of India with Mr. Ronald Colman as Clive.
Mr. Robert Donat, who took the leading part in The Count of Monte Cristo, is shortly to return to Hollywood to appear as Robin Hood.
