Monaco, March 19. — Princess Grace of Monaco (the former Miss Grace Kelly of Hollywood) is to emerge from film retirement to star in an Alfred Hitchcock thriller, a statement from the royal palace said tonight.

The film, based on a novel by the British writer Winston Graham, will be made in the United States this summer, and the Princess will return to Monaco in November, the statement added. Miss Phillys Blum, the Princess's secretary, said tonight that Prince Rainier may be present at part of the filming, depending on his arrangements.

Monte Carlo friends of the Princess said she was delighted to be making a new film, her first since her marriage in 1956. She announced shortly before then that she had agreed with Prince Rainier not to make any more films.
