Melody Thomas Scott

Melody Thomas Scott has practically grown up on the set of The Young And The Restless — she's played Nikki for the past nine years.

Starting out at age 3 as one of the "Meglin Kiddies," under the aegis of Ethel Meglin, who launched Shirley Temple's career, Scott sang and danced her little Mary Janes out at U.S.O. shows around southern California.

After a series of TV commercials and guest spots on My Three Sons and Ironside, Scott made her movie debut at age 8 in the Alfred Hitchcock classic, Marnie.

During junior high school she read that they were looking for "a chubby little girl" to star in the Clint Eastwood Civil War saga, The Beguiled. So she ate her way into the role, showing up for the audition bursting out of the seams of her rented Civil War costume.

Scott was married in 1986 to Y & R exec producer Edward Scott. They are expecting their first child in November.
