The worst of the Psychos
PSYCHO 3. Starring Anthony Perkins. 1986. Restricted. 93 minutes.
They couldn't leave well enough alone.
At the end of Alfred Hitchcock's original Psycho Norman Bates was sent away to prison never to harm anyone again. But the box office potential was too great to keep him locked up forever, so Norman was released and so was Psycho 2.
Then when Psycho 2 made money, someone decided to count even higher; hence Psycho 3. But God willing, this will be the last. It's certainly the worst.
It's so bad, in fact, that one can't help cheering for Norman. Demented and bloodthirsty he may be, but except for that, he doesn't seem like such a bad guy any more.
