ENGLAND GETS FILMS STAR FOR A YEAR.

LOS ANGELES, April 11. — Betty Compson is leaving America for a year or more, and her plans for departure bring a surprise in the announcement of her parting from the Famous Players.

She has accepted a handsome offer from an English company, which is said to involve more more than has been paid to a star abroad. She will appear in an English play titled "Woman to Woman," which has been running in London, under the direction of Graham Cutts.
