"JAMAICA INN"

Laughton Film To Be Made In Cornwall

It was announced last night that Alfred Hitchcock has joined the "Mayflower" Pictures Corporation to direct the making of the film "Jamaica Inn," of which Charles Laughton is the star and Erich Pommer the producer.

Today Alfred Hitchcock sails in the Queen Mary for the United States, and will return in a few weeks to start active preparations on "Jamaica Inn," the company's third and most ambitious subject. First was "Vessel of Wrath" and the other, just completed, was "St. Martin's Lane."

Much of "Jamaica Inn" will be filmed in Cornwall, and it is hoped to send a production unit down there towards the end of July.
