- Director Hugh Croise leases space at the Islington Studios to film Always Tell Your Wife. When Croise falls ill, Seymour Hicks asks Hitchcock up to complete the film.[1]
February
March
- 18th - Producer Victor Saville departs from Southampton to New York. In the US, he hires Betty Compson to appear in two films for Balcon, Freedman & Saville — Woman to Woman and The White Shadow — both of which will be directed by Graham Cutts with Hitchcock the assistant director.
April
May
- 5th - Producer Victor Saville and actress Betty Compson arrive into Southampton aboard the Olympic.[2] After arriving into London, Compson attends a lavish fancy dress party in her honour at the Savoy Hotel, prior to filming starting on Woman to Woman. According to Motion Picture News, "when Betty was called upon to make a speech she replied with commendable brevity (a virtue which should be acquired by several of our best film speakers) that she was in England to do her job, and meant to do it well."[3][4]
- The filming of Woman to Woman takes place at Islington Studios. This is followed by the filming of [the White Shadow]].[5]
June
July
- Filming begins on The White Shadow, Betty Compson's second film for Balcon, Freedman & Saville. Hitchcock wrote the scenario and is assistant director to Graham Cutts.[6]
August
September
- 26th - Having completed work on Woman to Woman and The White Shadow, actress Betty Compson departs back to America aboard the White Star Line's Homeric.[7]
October
November
- 12th - The Times reviews Woman to Woman and says the story is "admirably told, and its finer points are never underlined. The acting, too, is excellent".[8]
