  • British International Pictures announces that Hitchcock will direct a screen adaptation of Sean O'Casey's Juno and the Paycock, followed by an adaptation of the Clemence Dane/Helen Simpson book Enter Sir John.[2]

  • The filming of Juno and the Paycock is completed.[4]

  • 13th - Irish actress Sara Allgood, who appeared in Blackmail, Juno and the Paycock, and Sabotage, dies of a heart attack aged 70.

  • 7th - Art Director Norman G. Arnold, who worked with Hitchcock on Blackmail and Juno and the Paycock, and who gave the young Hitchcock his first break into the film world, dies aged 71.

  • 18th - Irish writer Sean O'Casey, whose original play was adapted into Juno and the Paycock, dies aged 84.
