- 11th - Motion Picture Daily reports that actress Madeleine Carroll has left New York to return to England aboard the Empress of Britain where she'll resume working for Gaumont-British.[1] The Sunderland Daily Echo and Shipping Gazette notes that her current film, I Was a Spy, is a huge success and that she will meet with studio head Michael Balcon to discuss future projects.[2]

- 11th - Principal photography begins on The 39 Steps, starring Robert Donat and Madeleine Carroll.[3]
1936

- Principal photography begins on Secret Agent, starring John Gielgud, Peter Lorre, Madeleine Carroll and Robert Young.[4]
1940
April
- 21st - A fund raising tennis tournament is held for the British War Relief, with Hollywood stars matched against professional tennis players. Along with Hitchcock, other attendees include Herbert Marshall, Maureen O'Hara, Nigel Bruce, Sir Cedric Hardwicke, Dame May Whitty and Madeleine Carroll.[5]

- 2nd - Actress Madeleine Carroll, who starred in The 39 Steps and Secret Agent, dies from pancreatic cancer, aged 81.
