Lucy Reville (b. 1866) née Owen

(Redirected from Lucy Owen (b. 1866))

Biography

Lucy Owen married Matthew Edward Reville in 1891. They had two daughters, including Alfred Hitchcock's future wife, Alma Reville.

Following the death of her husband in 1928, Lucy lived with her daughter Eveline. By 1936, they were both living on Borrowdale Avenue in Harrow, London.

After the outbreak of war in 1939, Alma — who had already moved to Los Angeles — grew increasingly concerned for the safety of her remaining family in England and convinced Lucy and Eveline to join her in California. 78-year-old Lucy travelled with her daughter to New York aboard the Samaria, which departed from Liverpool in September 1940.[1]

Lucy lived with Eveline in a small apartment on Ashton Avenue, West Wood, Los Angeles, and died a few years later in 1947.
